The PIAS Entertainment Group represents UK and US independent labels, including the sales and distribution arm of the organisation PIAS UK and record label Wall of Sound. Established for over 12 years PIAS UK has over 70 staff working from offices in London and Dublin and has, over time, played an important part in the success of world renowned artists such as Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, White Stripes, Prodigy, The Strokes and Moby amongst others.

 

The need
PIAS approached eLINIA to manage a transformation project covering their complete IT infrastructure and networks across Europe. PIAS required a migration to a new CRM, new email and sharepoint platform for around 400 members of staff, including outlook web access, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and intranet.

 

The Solution
The eLINIA solution consolidated PIAS’s infrastructure, which initially consisted of six conflicting platforms across six different locations in Europe, to one centralised platform in the UK. Having a centralised IT infrastructure has enabled PIAS to introduce common applications throughout the organisation; from a shared CRM platform enabling the company to keep on track of its European customer relations, to a collaborative finance application enabling the company to run
reports and analysis in days, rather than months.

 

The solution also provides an active directory integration piece. This allows, through a single sign on basis, a trusted suite of applications providing all of the required services and also giving PIAS the capacity to build new applications. The email platform covers the complete PIAS entertainment group joined by a private MPLS.

 

The PIAS infrastructure will be housed in eLINIA’s tier 3 green data centre, powered by renewable energy sources. The contract worth just over one million pounds was drawn up using a commercial SAS price per user model to provide the best value for PIAS. Having invested heavily in its infrastructure and technical set up allows eLINIA to take on projects such as PIAS with relative ease providing them with the best of breed components and applying our knowledge and experience to produce the best solutions to meet the exact business requirements.
