eLINIA is headquartered in Cardiff, but as well as data centre operations in Wales, it has one in London and two in Slough . In the last two years eLINIA has grown both in terms of staff and turnover in excess of 80% which has meant it was starting to exhaust the local labour market for good quality technical people. It already has a large amount of data centre space in Slough, so it made sense to open an office and start recruiting in the Thames Valley area. Slough has great road and rail links to the Cardiff HQ, is the ‘right’ side of London. It is easy to get to from most parts of the country, and there is also plenty of high quality data centre space and multiple network carriers.
John Jones CEO commented: “Sustained organic growth has always been our aim, and I am delighted with the progress we have made. Despite the recession, we see there being plenty of opportunity in the market, and organisations are looking at the services we provide as a viable option to control their cost base.”
eLINIA plans to continue its growth and double in size over the next couple of years. Jones added: “As you would expect there have been some challenges along the way to keep up with the rapid expansion while maintaining our flexible model. “We need to make sure our existing customers and staff are looked after and we are not just solely concentrating on growth. “It is, however, a nice problem to have.”
