eLINIA provides secure environment for anti-bullying tool

Managed services specialist eLINIA is providing a high-security hosting platform for a new anti-bullying tool aimed at schools across the UK.

The Assesswise tool has been designed to give schools an early warning of any pupils that are being bullied, or are at risk of becoming bullying victims. Specialist educational software provider Birchfield has developed the system in partnership with leading anti-bullying charity Beatbullying.

The system is delivered as a web-based service and purchased by schools as an annual license. Birchfield is donating 50% of all revenue from the Assesswise service to Beatbullying helping to fund ongoing research and work to combat bullying in UK schools.

The Assesswise tool is accessed through a unique username / password given to each student. Children are encouraged to participate in an interactive survey, which offers practical advice to pupils that may be being bullied. Data from the survey is then used to create a unique risk profile of students which teachers can see through a separate web interface only they can access.

Elinia has developed a highly secure, high availability hosting platform that replicates data from the live site to the disaster recovery site on a real-time basis.

The managed services specialist is delivering additional multi-vendor firewall and intrusion prevention support free of charge to further guarantee the privacy of confidential data.
