Honda web-stream is blooming marvellous

Honda is working alongside outsourcer eLINIA for the launch of a marketing campaign for its latest hybrid car.

At the centre of the Honda Insight campaign is a competition where the British public are invited to look after plants via the web. Each participant is allocated 5 plants and the owner of the first to bloom wins £5,000 for a good cause and £5,000 for a good holiday.

eLINIA will be streaming the development of the plants 24 hours-a-day, allowing competition participants to check on their plants in real time. This will be accessible via the Honda website which is held in eLINIA's carbon-neutral datacentre.

James Carnie, technical architect at eLINIA, commented, "Companies are starting to cotton on to the fact that IT has the capacity to cut carbon emissions. Our carbon-neutral datacentre means Honda's marketing campaign is as green as it's hybrid cars."
